Amazon is hiring a Sr Manager, DSP Analytics to join the EU Delivery Service Partner (DSP) team. The DSP team is building a world class last mile operation capable of exceeding the expectations of our customers. We ensure that customer orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible by a network of entrepreneurial owned and operated small businesses, our Delivery Service Partners.
As the Senior Manager, Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to build a new global organisation our DSP business lines (AMZL, AMXL, SWA, DSP lite etc.). The scope for this role will start with EU and Japan, but we expect the team to support more geographies and business lines. You will build and own our analytical tools, and build new business intelligence solutions end-to-end. To start with, you will lead a team of 4 business analysts to solve our most challenging problems and will be expected to grow and develop the team as the scope increases. You will work directly across all teams to provide valuable data-driven insights and recommendations. You will create reporting and analysis that the business will use to measure all aspects of operational performance and cost, and drive both incremental improvement to existing tools and processes and large-scale changes in our tools, user interfaces, processes and overall business organization. You will improve on and create standard metrics reporting and deliver on ad hoc requests. You will flex across core operational metrics and DSP behaviour metrics - linking the two and bringing proactive points of view to leadership, frequently before being prompted.

Key job responsibilities
**Your technical expertise will enable you to**:
(i) architect data warehousing and BI solutions that solve challenging problems that cut across DSP business functions and geographies;
(ii) build platforms capable of storing and processing large data volumes with high data quality standards;
(iii) interface with other technology teams to develop or improve ETL mechanisms from a wide variety of data sources using PostgreSQL (Redshift), Spark (EMR), programming languages (e.g., Java/Python) and/or scripting languages (Perl, Unix shell) to process data for modelling;
(iv) interface with business customers, gather requirements, and deliver complete Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and BI solutions;
(v) adopt and spread best practices in development (data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation);
(vi) ensure compliance with security and privacy policies; and
(vii) continuously grow your knowledge of AWS technologies and programming languages.
As the leader of the DSP Analytics team, your people management expertise will enable you to:
(i) hire, develop, and mentor a high-performance team of BIEs;
(ii) manage the day-to-day activities of the Analytics team using Agile/Scrum;
(iii) manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments;
(iv) effectively communicate status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to DSP leadership;
(v) build and maintain inter-team relationships and be the chief point of contact for development partners and customers;
(vi) develop a clear, long-term vision that engages the Analytics team, DSP leadership, and other stakeholders and translate the vision into an achievable roadmap;
(vii) coach team members to solve problems, and assist the team in reducing ambiguity in the roadmap to achieve task delivery dates;
(viii) dive deep into data quality issues and suggest corrective solutions;
(ix) increase productivity of the analytics team;
(x) influence and challenge the team during design discussions to develop scalable and economical solutions using AWS technologies;
(xi) lead the team and optimize writing of scripts and SQL code to deep dive data quality problems on a regular basis.
