Tessero is seeking a Senior Data Engineer SQL for one of its clients based in Luxembourg.

Responsibilities

• By developing and optimizing complex SQL transformations, you will strengthen your expertise in large-scale data processing and contribute to business-critical analytics solutions.
• By enhancing enterprise data models, including Data Vault, dimensional, and 3NF structures, you will work on modern architectures while deepening your data modeling capabilities.
• By implementing data quality controls, validation rules, and testing frameworks, you will help ensure trusted and reliable data across the organization.
• By building and maintaining SQL-centric ETL/ELT pipelines, you will contribute to scalable and efficient data ecosystems while expanding your engineering expertise.
• By leveraging Python for automation and integrations, you will broaden your technical skill set and help improve operational efficiency.
• By implementing batch, incremental, and near real-time ingestion patterns, you will gain exposure to modern data integration practices.
• By collaborating with business, finance, risk, and compliance teams, you will develop a strong understanding of organizational challenges and deliver impactful data solutions.

Skills

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering or SQL-heavy backend engineering roles.
• Proven experience working with enterprise-scale data models.
• Experience within banking or financial services is considered a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

• Expert-level SQL and performance optimization skills.
• Strong experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) .
• Hands-on expertise with Data Vault 2.0 methodologies.
• Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, SCDs, and 3NF architectures.
• Python scripting and automation experience.
• Exposure to Tableau or other Business Intelligence platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of Core Banking platforms such as Temenos T24/Transact or Triple'A is considered an advantage.

Languages

• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• French and/or German are considered assets.
