IT Project Manager - ERP specialist
What will you do?
As IT Project Manager, you will lead a portfolio of digital projects that improve how BDO Luxembourg works: business applications (engagement and time management, billing, finance, HR, CRM), collaboration and workflow solutions, and data and AI use cases. You will work closely with business sponsors, product owners, IT teams and external partners to deliver solutions that are adopted by users and bring measurable value, on time, within budget and in a secure way.
Project delivery
• Lead projects end to end, from business case and scoping to delivery, adoption and benefits tracking in close cooperation with the CIO Office, using the delivery approach that fits each project: agile, waterfall or hybrid.
• Work with business sponsors and product owners to clarify objectives, define measurable success criteria (KPIs/OKRs) and prioritise scope around business value.
• Plan and steer delivery through roadmaps, releases and sprints or milestones, keeping scope, budget, timeline and quality under control.
• Lead cross-functional teams of business, IT and external partners (SaaS vendors, integrators, consultants), and manage their contracts, SLAs and deliverables.
• Facilitate workshops to capture and challenge requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and favour standard, configurable SaaS and low-code solutions over custom development.
• Proactively manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies and changes (RAID), and escalate with clear options when decisions are needed.
• Deliver other digital projects of the portfolio with the same end-to-end ownership, such as collaboration and workflow solutions, and data and AI use cases.
Business application projects
• Lead the selection, implementation or replacement of business applications, from market analysis and vendor selection to go-live and decommissioning of legacy systems.
• Bring your migration know-how to the team: fit-to-standard workshops, data migration (cleansing, mapping, reconciliation), integrations with surrounding systems, test strategy and cutover planning.
• Organise hypercare after go-live and ensure a smooth transition to support teams and key users.
Governance, adoption and continuous improvement
• Embed security, data protection (GDPR), privacy by design and responsible AI principles from the start, in close cooperation with the CISO, the DPO and Risk.
• Drive change management and adoption: stakeholder engagement, communication, training and support for end users.
• Coordinate testing (including user acceptance testing), go-live readiness and the handover to IT operations according to ITIL 4 practices.
• Report status, risks and decisions to steering committees and governance bodies through clear, data-driven status reports and dashboards, using our existing tools and templates (e.g. Wrike, Power BI).
• Keep project information up to date in our project and portfolio management tools (e.g. Wrike) and use AI assistants to save time on reporting, documentation and analysis.
• Close projects properly, measure the benefits delivered and share lessons learned to continuously improve our delivery practices.
This offer is for you if
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT project management across a variety of projects, ideally within an IT department or a professional services firm.
• Proven experience of one or two successful end-to-end ERP or core business application migrations, whatever the technology (e.g. Workday, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Fitnet or similar). You can sh
