About the Role
Our client is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its legal team. Reporting directly to a senior-level Managing Attorney, the successful candidate will provide legal analysis and advice across a broad range of commercial and contractual matters, with a particular focus on contracts of basic to moderate complexity.

The role requires a solid understanding of common-law legal concepts, particularly contract law and general contract drafting and negotiation practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and respond to internal requests relating to new commercial contracts, amendments, renewals, and other legal documents.
- Review deviations from standard commercial agreements and negotiate basic to moderately complex contractual terms with customers and vendors.
- Identify legal issues requiring review and coordinate with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Product Management, Customer Service, Finance, and other business functions.
- Act as a key point of contact for the Sales team and other internal stakeholders regarding contractual and business-related matters.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of commercial contracts, amendments, and renewals within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Support the drafting of legal responses to customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Prepare correspondence, contract documentation, and internal legal memoranda for review by senior members of the Legal team.
- Handle ad hoc contract-related assignments and other matters as requested by Legal management.
- Support senior legal counsel on more complex legal and commercial matters as required.


Requirements
- Law degree; a Master's degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in commercial transactional law; previous in-house experience is an advantage.
- Ability to review, interpret, draft, amend, and negotiate legal and commercial documents.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess legal and commercial risks.
- Good business judgment and commercial awareness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic to intermediate negotiation skills.
- Ability to balance legal risk and liability considerations with the commercial objectives of the business.
- Ability to support and facilitate commercial transactions while minimizing disruption to business and revenue.
- Strong computer and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a substantial workload, prioritize effectively, and work concurrently on multiple matters.
- Detail-oriented, decisive, efficient, and well organized.
- Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking abilities.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, ambitious, and collaborative approach.
