We are seeking a
General Manager Science
to join our
International Headquarters in Luxembourg.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will provide strategic and operational leadership to three key scientific areas —
Product Development
and
Regulatory Affairs
— while collaborating closely on
Research
with the Head of the Scientific Board.
The role requires extensive collaboration with internal departments and external partners to ensure scientific excellence and innovation across all product lines.
The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific background in Nutrition, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field with a genuine passion for advancing the science of nutritional supplementation.
WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?
- Report directly to the CEO on all Product Development and Regulatory Affairs activities.
- Define and implement the product development strategy in close collaboration with the CEO.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Product Development and Regulatory Affairs departments, ensuring effective collaboration across scientific and technical teams.
- Drive and oversee end-to-end product development, from concept and formulation to market introduction — making product innovation an essential part of the role.
- Coordinate project planning for new product introductions in alignment with Purchasing, Marketing, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead product development initiatives focused on new technologies and formulations for FitLine nutritional supplements and cosmetic products.
- Ensure continuous improvement and scientific integrity of high-quality, evidence-based nutritional supplements.
- Oversee quality assurance processes and conduct final reviews of product labels to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal experts and external partners to enhance product innovation and strengthen scientific credibility.
- Provide scientific and technical support to Marketing to ensure that product communication is consistent with validated research and product benefits.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across departments to align product development priorities with business objectives.
- Be prepared to represent the company in scientific or industry events as required.
- Regular international travel will be part of the role, in connection with product development, supplier meetings, and scientific collaborations.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
- PhD in Nutrition, Food Science, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific field.
- Solid medical or clinical foundation with a proven track record in nutritional science.
- Strong experience in product innovation, formulation, and development, supported by market research of new nutritional products.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing diverse scientific teams or R&D departments.
- Passion for and genuine belief in the value of nutritional supplementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
- Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of German and French is a strong asset.
