Job Description:

In this role, you will be part of the Private Bank Business Risk & Controls (BRC) team focusing on PB Europe International business unit in Switzerland, UK, Luxembourg and other advisory locations, with dedicated coverage of the Private Bank business in Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. You will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing the control and process environment in PB Luxembourg in close alignment with the other PB Europe International PB Booking Centers in Switzerland and the UK, to strengthen, align and continuously improve the Level 1 control landscape. You will support and drive enhancements of the Cross Border framework for PB Luxembourg, the automation of Supervisory Controls and support other regulatory driven initiatives. You would have a reporting line into the DCO PB Europe International .

Responsibilities

  • Supervise business controls to meet regulatory requirements in partnership with Compliance, AFC & Legal.
  • Provide business advisory support to PB Luxembourg front office staff in partnership with COO and 2LoD (AFC, Compliance, Legal). This will include providing advice on specific client cases via the PB Luxembourg Client Acceptance Forum (CAF), overseeing adherence to risk appetite and supporting reputational risk assessments.
  • Monitor Operational Risk Events and coordinating required lessons learned, read across and scenario analyses; maintain a strong partnership and a close dialogue with 2nd and 3rd line of defense functions
  • Support automation of and providing advisory guidance on supervisory controls, including Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs), and performing quality assurance (as relevant) for assessing the effectiveness of executed supervisory controls.
  • Support monthly and annual Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) by reviewing available contextual data (findings, operational risk losses, and other MI) and assessing its impact on the control environment.
  • Support PB Luxembourg 1LoD finding owners with respect to their findings and facilitating internal/external Audits or regulatory engagements.
  • Oversee governance and policy framework, analyze the impact of regulatory requirements and supporting the design of controls and or mitigation measures in alignment with the regional regulatory affairs team.

Skills

  • Solid knowledge and work experience in Private Banking (PB) and PB related businesses, preferably including defining processes, tools and methodologies for managing regulatory controls in COO, Audit, Operational Risk Management or Product Control areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, professional attitude when dealing with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent investigation and problem resolution skills and time management skills; structured, methodical thinker with attention to detail.
  • Able to influence key decision makers, peer groups and functions outside of your direct control.
  • Highly motivated, self-sufficient, with a strong willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Capability to cope with shifting priorities and changing responsibilities to meet needs and demands.
  • Fluent in English (German and French is a plus).

The successful candidate will be asked to present a recent criminal record.
