Why this Role Matters
This role is key within the Luxembourg Metrology organization, providing the chemical and forensic insights that support Goodyear's product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. As a Laboratory Technician, you play a central role by preparing samples carefully, performing advanced chemical analyses (thermal analysis, chromatography, wet chemistry), and ensuring precise, reliable results. Your work helps define performance targets and supports programs that strengthen Goodyear's competitive edge. Through clear documentation, thoughtful equipment care, and adherence to safety and quality standards, you ensure data is trustworthy, timely, and enables safer, higher-performing, and more efficient tires.
What You'll Do
- Nurture Samples: Prepare and isolate samples with detailed accuracy, gracefully following all established laboratory procedures.
- Perform Core Analyses: Tenderly perform laboratory tests using both standardized and specialized methods, embracing techniques like thermal analysis, chromatography, and wet chemistry.
- Manage Instruments: Operate key laboratory instruments with gentle effectiveness, applying chemical analysis techniques with skill to ensure consistently reliable results.
- Uphold Quality: Ensure the beautiful accuracy and consistency of all test outcomes while strictly adhering to crucial safety and quality protocols.
- Interpret Data: Conduct thoughtful basic data analysis, lovingly validate results, and transparently report any deviations or anomalies.
- Share Findings: Document your observations and conclusions clearly and thoroughly in laboratory notes and formal reports, ensuring knowledge is gracefully shared.
- Support the Lab: Offer vital support and care for equipment maintenance and calibration, ensuring the laboratory performs optimally.
What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications
- BTS in Laboratory Technology or Applied Sciences, with 2–3 years of practical laboratory experience in chemical analysis.
- Strong knowledge of chemistry, attention to detail, and ability to operate key laboratory instruments (chromatography, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, wet chemistry).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively in English and French.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and laboratory procedures, with a thoughtful and careful approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in laboratory technology, physics, chemistry, or a related scientific field, with motivation to learn advanced sample preparation and isolation procedures.
- Hands-on experience with chromatographic (GC, HPLC, GPC), spectroscopic (UV-Vis, IR), and thermal analysis techniques (TGA, DSC).
