You will support our growing payments business with a key focus on payments regulatory law, commercial, information technology and data privacy issues. As the Payments and Regulatory Counsel, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will move information and payments law forward.
**What you'll be doing**:
- Support PPRO's licensing and regulatory requirements globally, in particular PPRO’s UK and European regulated payment services entities;
- Work closely with the product, sales, operations, design, engineering and compliance teams and advise those teams on payment services regulation to support PPRO’s payments entities in the UK and Luxembourg;
- Active involvement in supporting PPRO’s efforts to navigate regulatory conditions to support core and emerging products whilst maintaining its flexibility to operate and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations;
- Coordinate and conduct day-to-day management of corporate governance and regulatory inquiries;
- Drafting and reviewing inter-company and commercial agreements;
- Staying up-to-date and helping to keep the team advised on legal, regulatory, and policy developments relevant to payments and financial services;
- Proactively working to draft, review and revise internal processes, policies and workflows.
- Negotiate agreements with PPRO’s partners and customers, supporting negotiations of partner’s customer’s agreement from a regulatory standpoint
**You'll need to have**:
- Law Degree and a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in the financial services (preferably within payment industry) or technology sector ( in-house on within a law firm);
- Working knowledge of payment laws and regulations in the EU and the UK (familiarity with other jurisdictions is a plus);
- Excellent oral and written English language skills (German or French is an asset);
- Ability to translate complex legal or factual issues into plain language communications;
- Strong sense of ownership and drive to push complex legal matters forward;
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and remote teams in a collaborative manner and are able to perform and deliver results under pressure;
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels;
- Strong contract drafting and negotiating skills combined with pragmatism and business sense is a plus.
