The University of Luxembourg (UL) is seeking to hire a set of postdoctoral fellows within the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine linked to HPC service of the University of Luxembourg led by Prof. Pascal Bouvry.
**Your Role...**:
The research and education high-level support team (HLST) of the HPC service aims at:
- Providing research support to the University research projects across faculties and interdisciplinary centers
- Providing advanced support to the University HPC users
- Providing teaching and educational support to the University bachelor, master and PhD programs as well as life-long learning activities
- Providing support to external partners and industry using the University HPC
- Participating in the national and European efforts in matters of HPC through the HPC Competence center in collaboration with the national HPC center (LuxProvide) and Luxinnovation
- Working on energy-efficient solutions for HPC
To this end, the postdocs will conduct the following tasks:
- Perform cutting research and education tasks in the fields of HPC/HPDA/AI
- Manage the software set and related frameworks
- Provide high-level support to internal and external partners,
- Assisting the setup of the teaching framework on HPC skills
- Collaborate with the Partnership officer and the Technology Transfer Office on the skills and technology access framework
- Participate in the research, education, and training activities across faculties and interdisciplinary centers
- Writing funding demands and scientific articles in the field
**What we expect from you**:
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent degree
- Advanced Know-How in the fields of HPC, HPDA and AI, in particular, parallel programming, use of AI on HPC, the management of software stacks using Easybuild or Spack
- Experience in a research environment
- Experience with the industry is a plus
- Great communication skills
- Understanding and implementation of project management best practices. In particular, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
- Commitment, team working, interpersonal skills, and a critical mind
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context, therefore knowledge in at least one of the two official languages of Luxembourg (French or German) is an asset
