The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its **Legal Directorate (JU) - EU Operations Department (OPS-EU) - Western Europe Division (WE) - France Unit (FR)**, at its headquarters in Luxembourg**:TRAINEE**
**_ Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1_**_st_**_ March/April 2025)_**
**_ (With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)_**
**Objective of the traineeship**:
The objective is to provide you with exposure to and experience of how a European Institution works and more specifically on how our French unit deals on a day to day basis with its transactional work with its corporate, financial institutions and public clients. To enhance your research skills and drafting skills and allow you to acquire the necessary background for a future career in law.
**Responsibilities**:
Under the responsibility of the Head of Division/Head of Unit or of another lawyer, your main tasks will be to:
- Carry out legal research, in particular in the field of recent European or French banking and finance law;
- Draft notes and other legal documents in respect of recent case-law or new legislation and regulation;
- Follow-up on recent case-law and draft regulations;
- Translate legal documents;
- Draft simple amendments to finance contracts and/or review conditions precedent to disbursement of loans.
**Academic qualifications and professional skills**:
- University degree in French Law at Master level (or studying towards);
- Admission to the bar school (CRFPA for France) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of French law;
- Knowledge of standard IT tools (particularly Word);
- Ability to summarize and present information with attention to detail;
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and French; Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
