What is FTIS and what does it do for Franklin Templeton?
Franklin Templeton International Services (“FTIS”) the Luxembourg management company (Super ManCo), it performs an important role in the European business strategy of Franklin Templeton. FTIS has licenses to manage UCITS and alternative investment funds. Additionally, with an investment management presence, it is responsible for managing the separate account and sub-advised business. The entity has 10 branch offices across Europe and manages funds domiciled in Luxembourg, the UK, Ireland and Romania, representing approximately $92bn in assets under management.
FTIS is looking for a Business and Operations Analyst to join Luxembourg Management Company team, to contribute to centrally administered business and operations projects and initiatives concerning development and enhancement of the business processes driven by governance requirements, regulatory changes, product initiatives, Board reporting efficiencies etc.
This is a great opportunity to gain a solid knowledge of the wider European fund industry, the EU regulatory environment and governance best practices. It gives great exposure to wide range of business partners and leaders across the organisation, as well as providing an opportunity to support strategic projects.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Business and Operations Analyst?- Continuously assess and improve, where necessary, all aspects of the governance framework to take into account new business and regulatory requirements- Support branch oversight processes and other oversight initiatives-
- Participate in the development of reporting and analytics with usage of IT tools like Power Bi, Power Automate- Contribute to / run ad-hoc projects and initiatives, collaborating and engaging with various internal functions across various regions- Work closely with Compliance, Legal and AML teams during implementation or changes resulting from new regulation, existing CSFF rules or process improvements to understand impact to existing operations- Oversee maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure all key documents are robust under scrutiny- Asist in regulatory requests
What knowledge, skills and abilities would help someone to be successful?- Some experience within the asset management/investment funds industry would be an advantage- Experience in the governance and oversight work- Interest in using digital solutions to enhance processes- Interest in investment funds, including financial instruments and local regulatory environments-
- Proven to take initiative in a changing/growing environment- Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), experience with MS Power BI and Power Automate would be an advantage- Strong written and verbal communication in English- Good attention to detail and analytical skills - the ability to challenge and question in a constructive manner- Perseverance and patience in communication and the implementation and evolution of new governance and oversight frameworks- Appropriate (executive) presence to deal with senior leaders (board members) and external clients/partners (auditors, regulators, etc.)
