Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Environmental Engineering, or Sustainable Technology, or Legal, Politics - 15+ years’ experience in Sustainability development (Packaging, Circular economy, Energy, Carbon reduction) in European environmental/sustainability policies;
- 8+ years of experience in development and deployment of environmental strategies and policies at the European level;
- 5+ years of leading roles in Trade Associations driving innovation and alignment with emerging public policies at the European level;
- 5+ years of experience in organizing and leading international congresses, public events, and/or innovation platforms - Proven experience working with international government and European affairs related to circular economy, sustainable packaging, waste reduction, energy;
- Proven experience with technology watch for latest innovations and emerging trends in sustainability field - packaging, energy, and waste management;
- Proven experience in senior stakeholder management and building corporate relationships within and across industries;
- Proven experience guiding the work of technical resources through project management;
- Proven experience and understanding of material end-of-life and circular economy;
- Proven ability to manage large and complicated projects with experience leading cross-functional projects and teams;
- Exceptional interpersonal and technical communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Structured strategical thinking, problem-solving ability and analytical skills;

We're looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Industry Specialist / Sustainable technologist to help define the Sustainable Packaging Roadmap and drive the Energy and Waste Reduction Innovation Technology Watch process. This is your opportunity to be part of a core team that is committed to build a sustainable net-zero carbon business through best in class technology reducing energy, waste and promoting circularity while complying with the continuously evolving EU Green Deal policies.

You will be part of Ops Integration team who owns the strategy and deployment of programs designed to improve customer experience while reducing Amazon’s carbon emissions and overall fulfilment cost via innovation. We implement decarbonization strategies in line with The Climate Pledge through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon-emission-elimination strategies.

We are a Team of Product and Program Managers, Sustainability Experts and Data Scientists supporting Operation while interfacing with central Sustainability team, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Public Relations. In this role, you will both think big and execute, creating solutions that scale across the billions of products Amazon sells. You will use your communication, negotiation, technical skills and influencing competencies to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders.

You will be successful in this role if you stay up to date on packaging, energy, and waste reduction trends, quickly identifying the best technical solutions and innovation that can solve complex end-of-life and circularity challenges for Amazon and our customers. Once a solution is designed, you will quickly shift to an operator’s perspective to drive efficient and effective implementation across Amazon’s fulfillment network.

This role can be based Luxembourg or located in any offices across EU.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with the Packaging, Sustainability, Public Policy, Legal, Retail, Procurement, Operations and other Regional/Global Teams to integrate Climate Pledge glidepath into the European Ops Integration Sustainability Roadmap;
- Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences;
- Define the strategy and lead the Ops Integration Technology Watch process for emerging trends and innovation in sustainable packaging, energy and waste
- Represent Ops Integration in Trade Associations driving innovation and alignment with emerging public policies at the European level;
- Communicate programs status to internal stakeholders;
- Participate in strategic & tactical planning discussions;
- Detail scope, define executional strategy and implement major sustainability project
