**Social Media Consultant.
**Mission**
Our client is seeking a Social Media Consultant to evaluate, advise and implement solutions for its social media
efforts. They currently use: Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and are exploring the possibility of additional channels.
The Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing effective social media processes and
strategies to connect with followers, grow its followership, and generate trust with the public.
The Consultant will gain an understanding of how the client works, including the political context in which it
operates by working closely with Communications, HR, Funding/Investor Relations, Economic and Market
Analysis and other divisions. Because of the impact these activities have on the client’s reputation, the
Consultant will have regular interaction with the Head of Communications and Deputy Head of
Communications, as well as the Management Board, if needed.
**Deliverables**
Report analysing: the current state of the client’s Social Media across all of its channels and giving best practice
recommendations on:
- Improve processes, content, engagement, differentiation across channels
- Implement the recommendations, taking into consideration existing resources
- Provide metrics to measure success
- Recommend any additional resources, along with estimates for such resources
Strategy: work with the Head of Communications and Deputy Head of Communications to:
- Develop and implement the social media objective(s)
- Tailor content and strategy for each channel
- Evaluate and decide the extent to which the client engages in community management
Workflow documentation: create documentation of various workflows and define processes (and any
exceptions) to standardize our method of operating:
- Respond to staff for social media promotion process; publication, events, etc
- Content creation process
- Identifying and setting up the most easily adoptable content calendar
- Structure out the best way to divide the work among team members
- Simplify the approval process (For example, the current workflow for approving draft posts before
publication is complex and needs to be streamlined)
Daily operations/tactics/campaign management:
- Plan and execute social media campaigns
- Evaluate campaigns and report on performance and feedback to improve
- Consistently ideate and create content with knowledge of client’s activities, using innovative
approaches to format, structure, and presentation to grow the presence and engagement
- Use data to inform strategy and detect new opportunities
- Monitor and analyse social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and initiatives and
make data-centric decisions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in social media and use them to drive progress towards
stated objectives in an authentic and aligned way
Visual Assets and Templates: Creation of a consistent visual language across all products (e.g. blog, discussions
papers etc.) and channels, and implement templates:
- Consult with provider working on the revision of the branding guidelines
Create analytical reports on performance
- Identify key metrics for stated objectives
- Set-up reports for monitoring performance
- Analyse and report on performance and advise areas for improvement
Staff trainings
- Organise training for the staff on how to best use social media while being mindful of reputational risk
- Transfer knowledge to Communications staff working on social media on:
- Technical skills (visual graphics/assets) as well as strategy/mindset
- Best practices on content planning
Evaluate potentially opening new accounts
- Conduct an analysis of opening new channels (e.g. Instagram)
- Conduct an analysis of setting up and managing accounts for executive staff (e.g. Managing Director,
Management Board members)
- Analysis to include:
- Benchmarking against other institutions
- Resources needed (human and technical)
- What it would take to implement and sustainably manage
**Technical skills**:
- Master's degree or equivalent in External Communications, Press Relations, Marketing, International
Relations or European Policy
- Minimum 8 years of experience in external communication, expertise in social media content
production, managing digital marketing channels or a similar role
- Experience working in or advising the EU institutions or International Financial Institution (IFI) would
be an advantage
- Solid expertise in analysis and reporting, analytical thinking abilities shown to drive insights
- Project management experience and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of Social Media and Content Marketing
- Fluent in English, other euro area languages would be a plus
