The direct reporting line for this role is to the Senior Finance Manager. Close working relationships are also required with other team members in Luxembourg, London and Frankfurt primarily, together with key service providers and property managers across Europe. The Assistant Finance Manager will be an important member of the Finance team who will assist with the day-to-day financial management of the European Outlet Mall Fund.
Cash management, NAV reporting and Accounts Payable processes will be very important elements of this role.
Occasional European travel might be required.
Main
**Responsibilities**:
- Day to day accounting tasks including AP management (coding invoices)
- Cash management, updating Fund cash balances
- Reviewing bank reconciliations and close liaison with Nuveen cashiers
- Review of quarterly finance packs prepared by external service providers
- Responsible for daily financial operations of allocated set of Fund entities, including tax and VAT compliance
- Assist in the production of quarterly investment reports to investors, where required
- Assist the team where required in preparing the various finance reporting packs, consolidation, and all associated reporting for investors
- Assist in the year-end audit process where applicable
- Support with the preparation, review and filing of annual statutory financial statements under local GAAP and Fund level
- Monitor the preparation and filing of annual statutory financial statements (local GAAP and Fund level)
- Liaise closely with property managers and third-party debt providers to ensure timely, quality financial deliverables and covenants adhered to
- Provide internal and external stakeholders, from time to time, with information that they require to meet their obligations
- Strong relationships and interaction with external service providers (auditors, property managers and local outsource providers etc)
- Assist in ad hoc projects for both the Fund finance team and wider business from time to time
- Liaising with all parts of Nuveen Real Estate as appropriate to ensure that all financial and operational matters are dealt with and managed efficiently
- Provide support to the Investment and Finance team members, where required
- Ensure that the Entity Monitoring System is up to date
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
- Relevant experience of two to four years ideally within a RE firm
- Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
- Working knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and local tax regulations
- Strong IT systems skills, Excel, Word, and accounting systems (MRI or YARDI preferable)
- Fluent in English plus another European language would be advantageous
- Strong accounting controls experience

- Strong verbal and written communicator - Clarity of presentation to Boards etc
- Confidence and desire to take responsibility for all deliverables
- Self-starter
- Organisational skills and the ability to work to fixed deadlines
