**Research Associate Post Doc on project **(M/F)
- Fixed-term contract: 6 months (parental leave replacement)
- Full time (40h/week)

Applications are invited for a position as Research associate (Post Doc on project) available in the Metabolomics Platform (Enzymology and Metabolism group, headed by Dr. C. Linster) at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine at the University of Luxembourg.
The Metabolomics Platform is a research facility operated by two Platform Managers within the LCSB. Its main goal is to offer analytical services to research groups at the LCSB and in Luxembourg. Our vision is to not only act as a measurement facility but to offer consulting in experimental design for metabolism related analyses to provide optimal results. It is also to provide and develop analytical methods to address a broad spectrum of biological questions without competing interests. The unit comprises state-of-the-art instruments including three LC-MS (Q-Exactive, Q-Trap and Q-ToF), two GC- MS, two HPLC’s and one YSI Biochemistry Analyzer.
Your Role
- Perform various experiments using core technologies such as GC-MS and LC-MS
- Analyze data and prepare reports.
- Develop extraction and analytical methods for biological sample matrices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments as needed.
- Review the experimental design of projects which include core technologies.
- Manage booking and payment systems.
- Training, supervision and daily management of a lab technician.
- Interact and collaborate with scientists at all levels (PhD students, postdocs, principal investigators, professors).
- Participate in grant writing.
Your Profile
- Ph.D. in biological sciences with focus on analytical chemistry preferred.
- Strong theoretical and practical competences within analytical chemistry and especially mass spectrometry and chromatography (GC and LC).
- Strong hands-on experience within chromatography and mass spectrometry of small molecules (method development, measurement of large sample sets, data analysis)
- Experience in sample preparation from multiple biological matrices.
- Possess excellent analytical capabilities.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and able to perform team-oriented as well as independent work.
- Previous experience(s) in life science-related research is considered a plus.
- Fluency in English is essential.
