- As a global player and buyer of goods and services, European Procurement Organization leverages technical excellence to develop best TCO solutions to secure the Arcelormittal’s supply chain, while providing efficient and reliable services to internal customers commonly called “Users”. EPO negotiates the purchases contracts of products and services for the group mills worldwide, designing and implementing relevant strategies to anticipate market evolutions and establish transformation programs.Within the European Procurement Organization, in an international and multicultural environment, the Buyer is responsible of the strategy and sourcing of steelmaking products consumed in primary process:
- **Magnesium granules products for Flat Europe plants located in Germany and Poland used for desulfurization of hot metal.**:
- **Various metallurgical additives such as silica/alumina-based products added in Secondary Metallurgy and other fluxes such as magnezite or bauxite added in the primary process.**:
- **Fluorspar products for AM worldwide (Europe, South America) and Aperam (Europe, South America) used as fluxes in Secondary Metallurgy.**
In Europe, the perimeter covers 17 plants in 8 countries.
The Buyer is accountable for fulfilling negotiation policy, validation rules and management of related documentation. The Buyer initiates and supports further value creation within its perimeter of responsibility trough TCO (total cost of ownership) initiatives and actions. The Buyer initiates or deploys initiative TCO in project mode with suppliers and users. He/She is expected to drive the purchasing aspects of his/her project from the beginning till its end
Main activities:
- elaboration of purchasing strategies and deploy strategic levers
- Market analysis of its portfolio perimeter
- prospect, manage, assess the capable panel of suppliers
- collect and consolidate plant needs
- plan, develop and negotiate global, regional or local contracts
- report about negotiation results and prepare required validation and contract database documentation
- Set-up global/regional/local contracts with KPI’s measurement
- deploy global, regional and local contracts and to measure their performance
- manage the uninterrupted supply to ArcelorMittal European plants
- organize the relationship with business-units and suppliers
- work with Lead Users in a TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) approach
- exchange with transactional team for contract deployment and validation of spot orders if any.
**Profile**:
- Engineer degree. Post-graduation in purchasing would be a plus
- Professional experience required: 3 to 5 years (in an industrial company would be a plus)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, team player
- Reliability, rigorous
- Fluent in English language is mandatory
- As the perimeter is highly international, this position requests daily communication with foreign interlocutors. Therefore, language skills (mastery of English and an another language like French, German, Spanish, ) and cultural sensitivity are needed to guarantee the required level of performance expected for this position.
