Your role
Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the program Controls & Governance team as a n Accounting & Compliance Lead **.
The Accounting & Compliance Lead will be Accounting & Compliance lead in the decarbonization program managing 1 or 2 Accounting analyst to drive closing of the books as per the defined and agreed calendar. She/he will also liaise with Segment accounting responsible where it concerns accounting issues to adherence to the manual of accounting policy for the Group.
Main tasks
- Be the single point of contact for accounting and compliance in the Innovative DRI program.
- Drive monthly closing of books of the Central decarb team and assist in the closing of the CL decarb books where needed at Business Center of Excellence (BCOE).
- She/he will ensure GR#/SES# are booked on time for the monthly closing for the PR/POs. For this ensure proper coordination with the stakeholders.
- For monthly close, liase with stakeholders to see what services are delivered and what have not been GRed yet to book accruals.
- Liase with the stakeholders to ensure accruals for the monthly closing on cost by D+1 noon and revenue by D+1 eod are accurate and correctly booked.
- Liase with the Cluster team for inter-company accruals and inter-company reconciliations. Ensure alignment with all stakeholders and timely communication to all for booking of accruals in the correct WBS by the clusters.
- For this liase with the HR teams / OneHRIS, to ensure period costs are correctly booked / accrued taking into consideration the invoices received.
- Coordinate verification and validation of the monthly labor reports on EPCM / other vendors in the program. Ensure labor report and invoices as per the contracts and are matching with due approval from discipline leads.
- Verifies that invoices of vendors are correct as per approved labor reports and as per approved contract / travel policy caps. Ensure any deviation is approved by the appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure invoices are paid on time at due date and ensures no invoices are over-due unless approved or agreed with the management following specific business requests.
- Help stakeholders to have a transfer pricing contracts in place on time.
- Always ensure alignment with the Innovative DRI Governance & Controls teams and as well as AM Europe Head of Accounting / AM Europe Controlling to ensure correct/aligned accounting and closing.
- Verifies and checks Inter-Company (IC) invoices before they can be approved by the cost center owner on web validation tool.
- Execute any other / ad hoc tasks as per the request of the management to drive accounting and compliance with the Innovative DRI scope.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- +5 years of experience as an accounting in project is a must.
- Familiarized with project management principles and controlling reports methodologies. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret complex data from different sources.
- Proficiency in ERP / IT tools (SAP, Power BI, analytics), including advanced MS Excel, Power Point and SharePoint skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and attention to details skills, with ability to deliver with accuracy, on-time and reliability.
- Ability to deliver on deadlines, to handle multiple tasks (exceptional organizational and prioritization skills) and ability to handle pressure.
- Effective communicator, with ability to deal with a variety of stakeholders, suppliers, and different disciplines across the program, persuading them to meet deadlines.
- Proactive and self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
