Our business operates through two divisions:
1. Insurance carrier: Lombard International Assurance S.A.
Lombard International Assurance S.A., headquartered in Luxembourg, is an insurance carrier specializing in manufacturing unit-linked life insurance solutions. These solutions are distributed by various regulated intermediaries, including private banks, family offices, asset managers, independent wealth and financial advisers, wealth and insurance brokers, professional advisory firms, and other advisers active in the private wealth sector.
2. Distribution Companies
The Group has a number of wholly owned investment and insurance distribution businesses that market and advise on unit-linked life assurance products manufactured by Lombard International Assurance S.A.

Your Role – Are You Ready for a Challenge?The Senior Legal Counsel - German Market is responsible for ensuring that legal risks are identified, captured, and managed by the Legal team in coordination with internal stakeholders within the applicable company standards and risk appetite levels. The role generally involves legal matters with a specific focus on the German insurance market.
Your Responsibilities- Providing legal advice to the company regarding the development of solutions and business relationships with clients and partners;
- Drafting and negotiating partner agreements, ad hoc client documents, and any other relevant legal documents;
- Developing excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing them with guidance and support on various aspects of the company's legal matters;
- Legal watch (new laws and regulations relevant to our business) conducting legal research and follow-up on legal and regulatory changes to ensure the company is well placed to respond to changes;
- Advising management and staff on all legal matters, including training;
- Managing complaints and litigation, liaising with external counsels, in order to support the corporate position;
- Participating in corporate projects and product development;
- Contributing to the legal reporting to the head office management bodies in a timely manner;
- Ensuring full compliance with all Group legal and local requirements that are within the scope of the legal function especially defining risks and legal and regulatory requirements.
To be successful as our Senior Legal Counsel – German Market, you will need:
- A law degree from Germany and preferably Bar admission;
- German Native and fluency in English;
- 5-8 years' experience in the life insurance or financial sector;
- Contract drafting skills and experience in the fields of contractual risks and management of client queries or complaints/litigation;
- Knowledge of Luxembourg financial sector and of the German insurance environment;
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure;
- Attentive to detail and report drafting skills;
- Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment, and creativity in finding solutions.
