Financial Analyst Consultant

Northern Trust is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Fund Accounting department, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating net asset values (NAV) for a variety of complex fund types and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure NAVs are reviewed and validated before dissemination to clients, other parties, and markets as per NT standards
- Reconcile cash and security transactions in an efficient and timely manner to maintain the team's reconciliation items at a minimum level
- Validate pricing of portfolios, including Equities, Options, Futures, Fixed Income, OTCs, and Forwards, per pricing policy
- Respond to client queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Monitor recurrent reporting for onward transmission and resolve any queries posed within specific timeframes
- Perform duties in accordance with current procedures and challenge and enhance the current procedures
Requirements:
- Proven understanding of multi-region fund structures in a financial services NAV environment
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve multiple daily deadlines for client deliverables
- Knowledge of regulatory regulations pertaining to Mutual Funds, Open-Ended Investment Companies (OEICs), and close-ended funds
- Financial instrument knowledge – Traditional asset types, Derivatives, and Private Capital Market Assets
- Excellent interpersonal skills for consulting with the Fund Accounting team and other Internal Departments
- Hold an accounting, business, or mathematical qualification in university
- Fluent in English
IT Skills:
- Excellent desktop, IT, and systems skills
- Experience of SunGard Invest One considered a key advantage
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word essential
Personal Skills:
- Demonstrates excellent analytical, consultative, communication, and judgment skills
- Ability to work in a structured pattern, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
