Mitsubishi UFJ Investor Services & Banking (Luxembourg) S.A. is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Officer to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing initial and ongoing risk assessments for each fund managed, as well as assisting in the day-to-day risk monitoring and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in finance, economics, or mathematics, and relevant professional qualifications such as CAIA, CFA, or FRM.
They will also have experience in the Luxembourg fund services industry, preferably within Asset Management, and be proficient in English.
The Risk Management Officer will be part of the Risk Management team, reporting directly to the Conducting Officer in charge of Risk Management.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Performing initial and ongoing risk assessments for each fund managed;
- Assisting in performing the day-to-day risk monitoring, including the calculation of risk-based exposures and limits, as well as stress testing and back testing (when applicable);
- Participating in producing regular and ad-hoc risk-related reports to regulators, senior management, and the Board of Directors;
- Supporting the monitoring of investment compliance of the funds under management;
- Keeping track of and following up on incidents linked to UCI Administrators;
- Assisting in undertaking both initial and ongoing due diligence on UCI Administrators and Depositary, including review of documentation received and reporting of findings;
- Assisting in the review of the quality of service received, including without limitation independent checks on the accuracy of NAV calculations and funds' financial statement review, and ensuring that issues are appropriately identified and addressed;
- Ensuring follow-up on detected improvement points and proper escalation to the governing bodies if needed;
- Assisting in the organization of various Committees needed within the framework of the Management Company's activity;
- Assisting in preparation of reports to the Board of Directors of the Management Company and Funds' Board of Directors;
- Assisting in preparation of invoices for services rendered to the funds;
- Assisting in the analysis and implementation of regulatory changes (CSSF Circulars, UCITS, AIFMD, ESMA guidelines);
- Being involved in various internal projects.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and well-organized, with a hands-on and can-do attitude.
They will also have excellent written and verbal proficiency in English, as well as good understanding of financial mathematics, statistics, and modelling techniques.
Additionally, they will be able to read and understand legal documentation, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of SQL and databases structures, PowerBI, Bloomberg, and ETL tools would be considered an advantage.
