Job Description: Scientific Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientific Manager to join our team in Luxembourg. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the strategic plan for our Foundation's activities, in close collaboration with our LuxOR team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health or a related field, with experience in project management, event organization, and scientific research dissemination. You will also possess excellent writing and speaking skills in French and English, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement a short-, medium-, and long-term strategy for our Foundation's activities, aligned with our objectives and goals.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, including LuxOR, the Scientific Committee, and other operational research entities within the MSF Movement.
  • Organization and Representation
    • Ensure that budgets and administrative obligations are respected, in collaboration with our Administrative and Financial Officer.
    • Represent the Foundation in dealings with various stakeholders, including the MSF Movement, universities, research centers, and Luxembourg ministries.
  • Scientific Activities
    • C-coordinate the organization of debates and scientific discussions in Luxembourg and within the MSF Movement.
    • Promote training opportunities in operational research and epidemiology, including fellowships, research exchanges, and other initiatives.

Benefits:

  • A competitive salary between €49,500 and €60,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • A fixed-term contract under Luxembourg law, full-time (40 hours/week), for a period of 1 year, with a 6-month trial period.
