Risk Officer Job Description

The Risk Officer plays a crucial role in assisting the Risk Manager in translating the company's and Baloise Group's risk appetite and risk policies into daily business operations for Baloise Assurances Luxembourg S.A. and Baloise Vie Luxembourg S.A.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and develop the annual ORSA Report and other Risk reporting (SFCR, RSR, QRTs) for Life and Non-Life entities
  • ALCO – RICO (Asset Liability Committee / Risk Committee): Assist the team in preparing the agenda, collect and prepare supporting documentation, and write minutes
  • Support the design and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs)
  • Support first-line risk owners in consistently applying the Risk Management Framework to identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report all material risks
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and quality reviews
  • Maintain and develop policies based on the applicable governance framework
  • Create, maintain, and develop positive working relationships with all stakeholders, internal and external, to support achieving key outcomes
  • Promote a culture of strong risk awareness across the company
Required Profile:
  • Master's degree in Actuarial, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the insurance sector, is desirable
  • Strong reporting skills, high degree of independence, affinity with financial markets, actuarial calculations, and insurance concepts (Life and Non-Life)
  • Significant risk management experience and understanding of local and SII regulatory framework
  • Experience in writing internal policies, documenting processes, risk, and controls
  • Fluent in English and French. German is considered an asset in communication with Head Office
  • Strong analytical skills. Detail-oriented and ability to interpret figures and other actuarial and financial information
  • Team player, flexible, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills, in particular MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
