**_The Job _**
- We have an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Team in the Luxembourg Branch. _
- Handelsbanken started its activities in Luxembourg in 1978 and is part of Handelsbanken Global Banking. We support the Bank’s customers in the core markets with their international business. The Branch's main business is Private banking and Mortgage lending in Spain, Portugal and France. _
- We are looking for an experienced Settlement and Payment Specialist who is passionate about providing first class service to our customers as well as building lasting relationships with internal departments. This role will report in to the Head of Operations, Luxembourg. _
- The role requires extensive experience with payments, including FX trades and clearing and settlement of securities. _
- The main responsibilities will be the following: _
- _Work with the daily clearing and settlements _
- _Handling and booking FX trades _
- _Recurring reconciliations _
- _Booking of payments _
- _Provide support to the Private Banking and Mortgage departments _
- _Control and follow up on pending items _
- _Contact for internal and external departments / counterparties _
- _Working with corporate actions _
- _Opportunity to be in charge of long term projects _

**_Skills & Requirements _**:

- **_Proven experience in a similar Back Office / Operations environment including experience of FX _**:

- **_Ability to work both independently and in a team in a multi-cultural environment _**:

- **_A willingness to get involved in an array of different tasks _**:

- **_Good social skills and ability to interact with other departments to find the best solutions for the customer _**:

- **_Computer and software skills (Swift system, Excel,etc.) _**:

- **_Takes responsibility for own development and on the job learning _**:

- **_Deep knowledge of and passion for banking / financial services products and services _**:

- **_An interest in and knowledge of existing and upcoming regulations _**:

- **_Observe proper standards of market conduct _**:

- **_Knowledge of securities, operational processes and operational risks linked to securities _**:

- **_Strong problem solving and analytical skills _**:

- **_Desire to support and contribute to the development of the team around them _**:

- **_Able to envisage and suggest efficiencies and process adjustments to ensure smooth and robust procedures within the department _**
