The **EIB**, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C),** **Credit & Climate Risk Department (CCRD) - Mandates, Pricing and Support Division (MPS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an **(Associate) Credit Risk Management Officer - Mandate (*) Management and/or Loan Collateral & Pricing**. **This is a full time temporary position at grade 4/5.

**The term of this contract will be until 15**th** December 2023. A**_s this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen._**

(*) The term “Mandates” comprises the investment portfolios managed by the EIB from third party resources or those with the benefit of a third party guarantee protection. In general, mandates support a broad scope of public policy goals, have a very high risk tolerance, and are targeted at supporting innovative financing structures and/or underserved market segments.

**Purpose**:
Contribute to GR&C-RM’s input into the design, implementation and management of mandates (including those received from the European Commission and other third parties and those given by the Bank to the European Investment Fund (EIF)), and/or participate in the development and implementation of risk pricing processes, tools and reporting in order to mitigate transaction-specific credit risk and ensure the quality of EIB’s loan portfolio and its economic capital sustainability.

**Operating Network**:
The Mandates, Pricing & Support Division comprises 2 Units: the Loan Collateral & Pricing Unit and the Mandate Management Unit. Tasks may be assigned to you from both Units, based on the Division’s priorities and work-load.

Reporting to the Head of the Mandates, Pricing & Support Division, you will develop a strong, positive working relationship within the Division and with colleagues across GR&C-RM, as well as with other transversal teams including notably Front Office Lending/Investing, the General Secretariat, Portfolio Management & Monitoring, Legal and Financial Control, and with the EIF.

The job requires the ability to work on several activities in parallel, even complex ones, and in full autonomy on all aspects of work with outputs requiring no, or only marginal changes.

**Accountabilities**:
MANDATE MANAGEMENT
- Contribute to the development, implementation and on-going improvement of initiatives and projects e.g.:

- Provide GR&C-RM’s input and opinion on risk-related issues concerning the EIF mandates
- Consolidate GR&C-RM’s input into any mandate related audit, evaluation, data and reporting request (incl. compilation and verification of info/data, consultation with the relevant GR&C-RM teams, preparation of briefings/summary notes, etc.)
- Contribute to the GR&C-RM opinions to MC notes under your responsibility and participate in inter-Department projects and/or working groups related to the Division’s responsibility
- Provide input to ad-hoc analyses and written communications on specific matters to management or external bodies.

RISK PRICING
- Contribute to the development, improvement and streamlining of procedures, support and control systems, methodologies and working tools to strengthen the Risk Pricing, the Incremental Return on Capital (IRC) and Financial Value Added (FVA)-related activities of the Division
- Execute of a wide range of risk pricing-related processes (e.g. validation of Loan Grading, risk pricing and post-signature re-pricing calculations, Loan Grading classifications, financial value added (FVA) calculations, calculations for contracts which need to undergo a change in pricing as a consequence of contractual breaches, etc.)
- Perform ad-hoc activities such as stress tests, financial market competitiveness monitoring or impact assessments.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a front office or credit risk
- related role and/or a role involving structuring and contractual negotiations of financial products
- Familiarity with the main modern risk measurement methodologies and management tools, as well as knowledge of quantitative credit risk modelling (Expected Loss, Unexpected Loss, Value at Risk) and risk pricing techniques would be an advantage
- Knowledge of financial industry information systems such as Bloomberg or Reuters would be beneficial
- Good project management and problem-solving skills with ability to coordinate multiple tasks across various stakeholders
- Good understanding of the EIB’s mission, policies, procedures, organisation and activities (including mandate-related activities)
- Proficient knowledge of MS Excel.
- Excellent communications skills in English both written and oral as well as proven ability to interact with senior management
