**Your Role...**:
With the increase of the University acting as a European excellence hub, the **Head of University Facility Management** will join the Central Administration management team and contribute to support the UL’s ambition to further connect to corporate partners, public sector, and private life. The mission of the Head of University Facility Management will be to ensure the efficient and effective management of all University facilities and premises, such as buildings, equipment, parking, infrastructure, and real estate. The Head of University Facility Management will be instrumental in shaping the university Facilities department adequately to meet the challenges inherent to our university growth.
**Key areas of responsibility**
- Continue to develop the university Facilities, aligning team structure and processes in the pursuit of the university strategic outcomes
- Elaborate the Campus Master Plan in collaboration with all stakeholders
- Manage, develop, and act as collaborative, servant leader towards the internal and external team members of UL Facilities department
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, efficiency of services and delivery of optimal user service
- Be accountable for safe and efficient functioning, maintenance and operation of all buildings, reception desks, laboratories, equipment, machinery, systems, security etcin the day-to-day or related to special events
- Development and operational management of student housing
- Act as key representative of Facilities solutions towards the academic and research world; translate and communicate as a trustful partner to find the best solutions possible to support all parties within our innovative environment’s requirements
- Oversee budgets, staffing, short
- and long-term planning, program development, policy and procedure for all sub-Facilities Departments, construction / renovation operations, campus planning, provision and planning of contractors, maintenance and repair programs and energy management
- Manage relationships with key external service providers with an emphasis on vested/collaborative outcome-based relationships
- Participate in the evaluation of service models and contract terms to best leverage current vendor relationships
**What we expect from you**:
- 10+ years of relevant working experience within Facilities management in a complex environment, with proven experience in project and transformation matters
- At least Master’s degree in related discipline
- Possesses an engineer background that includes experience serving as Facilities Director with a proven track record of leading people
- Experience or understanding in working with or within the academic world is a nice to have
- Experience in leading complex Facilities projects involving numerous stakeholders
- Proven experience in team management and development
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and analytical skills to work with all levels within our institution but also with our external partners and vendors
- Fluent in English, French and German. Luxembourgish is an asset
