The **Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) **is a **research **centre** for the study, analysis and public dissemination of contemporary history of Luxembourg and Europe with a particular focus on digital methods and tools for doing innovative historical research. It serves as a catalyst for **innovative** and **creative** scholarship and new forms of public dissemination and societal engagement with history.
The Postdoc will be a member of the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) at the University of Luxembourg. He/she will work under supervision of Ass-Prof. Dr. Denis Scuto.
**Your Role...**:
Realisation of a study on the history of the Esch Gas Plant/Sudgaz/Sudenergie as a postdoctoral researcher. The gas plant’s history goes back to 1899. Writing its history means dealing with history of industry, economic history, urban history, social relations, labor history, working conditions on a national and transnational level.
**Activities**
- Do research and write a publication about the history of the 125 years of Esch Gas Plant/Sudgaz/Sudenergie (1899-2024) and help building a website on the history of the gas plant
- Collect and review literature and archival sources
- Coordinate and supervise the data retrieval
- Active engagement in the cooperation between C2DH and CSL
- Conduct and analyse oral history interviews
- Contribute to research in the field of Contemporary History of Luxembourg

- PhD in Contemporary History
- Research profile in the field of Contemporary History with a specialization in social and industrial history or related field
- Excellent command of the following languages: German, English, French
- Good digital literacy
