**About the Role**:
For our **Ferrero Group Headquarters** in **Luxembourg**, we are looking for an **Open Innovation Packaging & Design Manager **to join our **Open innovation **(OI) team of our **Strategy and Innovation **department.
Thanks to this exciting and challenging opportunity you will report to the OI Packaging & Design Stream Leader.
As the Open Innovation Packaging & Design Manager you will drive open innovation activities of Ferrero Open Innovation by the Area of Packaging Innovation & Advanced Design: scouting for packaging innovation, evaluation of potential projects, support acceleration of scouted project in a complex matrix.
To drive packaging development through an effective business planning will be part of your responsibility. In this role you will manage also a packaging innovation lab internally connected to other labs with piloting activities. The main geographic focus will be Europe, Africa and Middle East, interacting with internal and external Innovation experts and other Ferrero OI team members in Americas and APAC, and, also, with key stakeholders at the Headquarters.
On top of this, working in the Group Headquarters you will have the responsibility of bridging the innovation from the hubs on global projects and assuring a flawless connection ability with Headquarter Partners of any type.
**Main Responsibilities**:
Covering this position, you will support Leadership for identifying the right technologies and projects for filling product categories along the aim-commit flow with packaging and design relevant projects while overall contributing to a continuous R&D strategy drafting towards Long Term Guidelines generation.
In addition, you will lead complex project portfolio platforms once generated for a key business pillar to be solved through advanced innovation and connection of multiple partners towards the delivery phase on innovation pipelines being federative integrator on complex multi hub Projects leveraging the position by the Headquarter.
More specifically, you will monitor the development and progress of scientific and technological innovations within relevant opportunity areas by leading the identification and assessment of new trends and scientific developments in food packaging, polymer and material science, remaining thus, on forefront of emerging industry trends and competitor products and technologies, strategies, and activities.
In this role you will utilize technical and creative problem-solving skills to successfully translate scientific developments and consumer needs into clear opportunity areas and potential technical solutions. You will conduct robust patent review and IP landscape work.
Furthermore, you will manage scouting and execution process of Ferrero O&I within assigned focus area identifying and prioritizing new opportunity areas, assess strategic relevance and possibly support their consideration by Ferrero Leadership towards a project portfolio platform generation for the long-term trajectories. You will do so by scouting, evaluating and actively driving or supporting the execution of business opportunity plans.
You will drive complex packaging acceleration plan composed by multipronged projects based upon multi and parallel opportunity evaluation and deployment, included leveraging fail fast working model in full synergy with any relevant internal Partner.
**Who we are looking for**:
You will bring your** Master’s degree **or **PhD in Food Packaging, Polymer Science, Material Science, Packaging, Design** or similar and **8-12 years of relevant work experience.**
