Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to the European System Functional Test organization executing System, verification and test automation.
- Manage a number of teams by leading the respective supervisors and direct reports.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and resource availability for existing and new development projects to meet project deliverables on time.
- Lead System Test Leads and System Test Managers and support with customer escalations on test related issues.
- Functional and individual talent development and succession planning
- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Be a role model and driver for BorgWarner beliefs and values.
- Define, monitor and maintain the Functional Test group’s budget.
- Plan and manage capital expenditures for test equipment for projects.
- Provide technical leadership and direction on test processes for the region.
- Support and implement the strategy for systems testing in Europe.
- Write and update test processes in collaboration with global test engineering leadership.
- Define and introduce procedures, guidelines and best practices to advance Functional Test teams’ quality and efficiency.
- Generate appropriate metrics and KPIs to measure performance and success.
- Ensure definition and configuration of test benches as well as maintenance of SW licenses used by the test teams.
- Maintain the process for defects tracking in the projects.
- Ensure adherence to development processes, support quality audits and process assessments.
- Support status reporting to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Support quotation process and SOA for new business opportunities.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or similar.
- 15+ years of experience in electronic systems functional testing and validation.
- 10 years of experience and proven skills in managing test and validation. groups (leading and directing, staffing, building effective teams), with a proven and successful record leading engineering development teams.
- Experience in automotive development projects and processes.
- Experience in interfacing with OEMs/customers and service providers.
- Experience in and detailed knowledge of ASPICE and related assessments on Systems level.
- Experience in Power Electronics (HV test environment).
- Experience in executing tests on different test environment, e.g. vehicle, dyno, HV/LV bench, HiL.
- Experience in writing test specifications on requirements as well as designs.
- Experience in developing and deploying test processes across the organization.
- Experience in leading audits for test processes.
- Experience in different types of test generation methodology.
- Experience in using
- Defect tracking process tools, JIRA
- ALM/PLM requirements and test management tools
- PXI hardware test platforms
- DSpace/NI/Can tools (CANstress, CANoe,)
- Matlab/Simulink
- Excel/XML/XLST standards
- Willingness to travel 10-20% if located in Luxemburg, otherwise more travel required to spend at least 2 weeks per month on site in Luxemburg.
- Excellent capability to effectively communicate and clearly articulate processes / methodology.
- Fluent in English is required. Mastery of a second language is preferred.
- Experience working internationally with cross-cultural teams.
