The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Operations Directorate, Operations Support Department, Business Support and Analytics Division, Pricing and Profitability Unit at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an **(Associate) Loan Products & Pricing Officer**.**

**This is a full-time **temporary** position at grade 4/5.**

**The term of this contract will be until 15**th** December 2025. **_A_**_s this is a temporary replacement assignment, no extension or conversion of the contract is foreseen._**

**Purpose**:
As an (Associate) Lending & Credit Risk Policy Officer, you will provide analysis, reporting and advice to the OPS and EIB Global (GLO) Directorates as First Line of Defence in relation to the Bank’s lending activities, notably on the more technical aspects of lending products and their pricing, market developments and capital consumption.

**Operating Network**:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, you will work closely with colleagues in the Division and across the Operations Support (OSD) Department. Based on a strong internal network, you will need to ensure effective consultation with OPS and GLO Departments, as well as to collaborate closely with Group Risk & Compliance (GR&C), Portfolio Management and Monitoring (PMM), Finance (FI) and other EIB Directorates.

**Accountabilities**:
In this post, you will:

- Ensure the monitoring and analysis of pricing attractiveness of EIB loan products in different market segments and prepare proposals and contributions to the design of business implementation measures.
- Calculate the Financial Value Added (FVA) of individual loan operations or disbursements and provide relevant pricing advice to OPS, GLO and PMM colleagues.
- Handle the monitoring and forecasting of disbursement performance.
- Contribute and ensure timely and accurate analysis and reports on lending activities, disbursements, pricing, Incremental Return on Capital, prepayments, loan stock, credit and other policy or operational issues.
- Proactively provide analysis to the Management Committee (MC) or OPS and GLO senior management, i.a. on pricing, profitability, capital allocation, capital market developments and complex or innovative operations.
- Follow regulatory and capital market developments; in close cooperation with FI and GR&C, you will also assess their impact on the EIB's pricing methodology, on the profitability of EIB lending products and on the use of capital.
- Contribute to the elaboration/implementation and updating of policies related to non-risk pricing (mark-up, modulation, FVA, fees, other pricing components) and capital consumption and allocation, stock management and more generally business development, and represent the Directorate(s) in related Bank-wide Working Groups and initiatives; you will also ensure maintenance and update of related procedures in close cooperation with Operational Management.
- Screen MC Notes and Appraisal Fact Sheets (AFS’s) concerning pricing elements and provide relevant feedback to OPS and GLO colleagues and/or OPS and GLO hierarchy.
- Maintain a regular and transparent flow of information between the Business Support and Analytics Division and OPS and GLO transactional Departments with regard to pricing, profitability and capital allocation; ensure that their input is taken into account, organize regular feed-back on the progress of bank-wide initiatives and set up trainings/information sessions whenever appropriate.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience including exposure to the lending process
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and external financial IT databases (e.g. Bloomberg). Knowledge of Business Objects would be an advantage
- Experience in working with large data samples and data management
- Knowledge of capital markets and funding processes and products would be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of English is required for this role. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
