**This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. **The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. We also offer relocation support.
The **EIB**, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Management Committee (MC), Office of President (MC/PRESIDENT) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a **Driver.**
**This is a full time temporary position at grade 1.**
**_ Panel interviews are anticipated for July 2024._**
**Purpose**:
As Driver you will be responsible for driving and maintaining the official vehicle of the President and performing administrative support tasks within the team.
**Specific Post Environment**:
The Driver position requires a high sense of discretion, on-call and standby duties specifically flexibility and availability to work outside of core working hours and overtime, including short notice requests and overnight stays as well as the ability to efficiently plan routes and travel. A high-level self-control is crucial, together with ability to follow security procedures and fast response to unexpected events.
**Operating Network**:
You will report to Head of President’s Office and will be in regular contact with all members of the office of the President (advisers, assistants). Close contact with the relevant security teams under the Group Corporate Services is of the essence in order to coordinate movements and cooperate with the security detail of the President. You will also be in contact with the other MC members’ drivers.
**Accountabilities**:
- Driving the vehicle assigned to the President
- Day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle (cleaning, washing, fluid levels, etc.) and testing vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation.
- Cooperating and contributing to the objectives of the security detail of the President
- To the extent possible, ensuring the physical safety of persons transported, following relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations.
- Maintain a logbook of journeys made and of the vehicle in general (fuel, mileage, repair).
- Performing administrative tasks at the President’s office request
- Working in cooperation with the office’s assistants to respond effectively to needs and plan ahead
**Qualifications**:
- Upper secondary school diploma (vocational baccalaureate)
- Valid and ‘clean’ category B driving licence
- At least 3 consecutive years’ experience as a driver (experience driving VIPs and company directors will be an asset)
- Knowledge of the highway code and rules of the road in Luxembourg and neighbouring countries
- Knowledge of defensive and security driving practices and methods;
- First aid training and basic training on the physical protection of persons transported
- Knowledge of general vehicle maintenance and repair
- Very good knowledge of in-vehicle tools (navigation, hands-free kit, etc.)
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
