**Position**
For our Luxembourg office we are looking for a Senior Tax Compliance Advisor. In this newly created position you work independently and report hierarchically to the Head of Tax (based in Amsterdam). In your daily work you interact closely with other team members of the tax team, with the business, and with other corporate departments like Treasury, Accounting & FPA.
You will be part of a large and international Finance & Legal team based in Luxembourg.
The main challenge for the Tax Compliance Advisor is to support tax compliance processes for a large international real estate portfolio in 10 countries.
More specifically the tasks and responsibilities are as follows:
- Coordinating preparation of tax returns in joint consultation with Mileway’s country finance and Investment accounting teams and liaising with (local) tax advisors;
- Assisting Mileway’s country finance teams with day-to-day tax compliance questions;
- Maintaining tax records and keeping up with all tax filing deadlines including Local & Master files, DAC6/MDR reporting, Luxembourg TRC requests, UK WHT/DTTP’s and German RETT filings;
- Providing tax audit support to Mileway’s country finance teams in cooperation with Mileway’s tax advisory team and support of the external tax advisors, where applicable;
- Providing tax reporting support (i.e., return-to-provision support);
- Maintaining, updating and implementing tax compliance procedures and monitoring the level of compliance;
- Informing and liaising with other tax team members about developments, tax compliance status and any other relevant issues;
- Sharing knowledge with the Mileway teams and creating tax awareness.
- Bachelor degree in Tax Law, Tax Economics or alike;
- At least 4-5 years’ of Tax compliance experience gained at a (Big4) advisory firm or in-house;
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws in relation to tax compliance matters
- Numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills including how to collect relevant data from (ERP/Consolidation) systems and use them for the delivery of solutions;
- Willingness to lead on projects;
- Resilience for process improvement and efficiencies;
- Great team energy. You’re a hands-on self-starter who works confidently and independently, and you also collaborate well with others;
- Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal.
