The Client is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg. is organized as a multidisciplinary institute and supported by a professional services team, the includes four scientific departments in the fields of medical biology, microbiology, forensic medicine, and health protection, in addition to hosting the National Center of Pathology and the National Center of Genetics. The is based at Dudelange, with state of the art, modern infrastructure in line with recent developments in medical sciences.
The department of microbiology offers reference laboratory activities in partnership with various other public and private laboratories in the country. The department is nominated as National Reference Laboratory for Acute Respiratory Infections. At the same time, it works closely together with the Ministry of Health and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). The department had expanded its project portfolio recently to include outreach and scientific communication to major European projects (e.g BeReady, PANDOMIC and ECDC capacity building).

**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate with the department scientific officer and contribute to the dissemination and communication planning of the department activities.
- Gain a deep understanding of the strategic direction and intellectual developments of the department of Microbiology projects and research portfolio, and its impact on other national and international research areas
- Contribute to the Microbiology scientific project and scientific research branding as defined in the mission: presentation to potential partners and liaising and interacting with members of other research institutions.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the department of Microbiology communication and outreach strategy and policies.
- Drafting and executing a department dissemination and communication plan, including its intended audience, resources, impact and results.
- Developing, managing and producing the contents and updates of Microbiology department in our websites and social media channels.
- Producing the content of the projects communication and dissemination publications and materials including newsletters, booklets, promotional brochures, flyers and posters.
- Liaising with the communication, writing press releases and circulate them through the appropriate channels, including local, national and international mass media.
- Producing photographs, short videos and podcasts, showcasing the microbiology department’s projects and activities, science and scientists and use the mass media and social media channels to publicize them.
- Organizing events directed at stakeholders and the wider public to highlight the scientific work done at the microbiology Department.
- Engaging the department members in outreach efforts to elucidate the wider community of the role of -Microbiology in society.
- Proven track record of a similar role in an academic institution or health care industry.
- At least 1 to 5 years experience in communication.
- Rigor, motivation, creativity and originality, writing skills, conciseness, sense of priority and ability to work in a team.
- Exceptional integrity.
- Experience in digital communication including website/social media outlets and organization of events.
- Strong and proactive monitoring of the assigned tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Languages skills: excellent command of English and French, additional knowledge of German or Luxembourgish would be considered a strong asset.
