The University of Luxembourg is seeking to hire a highly motivated and an outstanding researcher in the area of optimization performance of interference-limited wireless communication systems for its Interdisciplinary Centre of Security and Trust (SnT), within the Signal Processing and Communications (SigCom) research group, led by Prof. Björn Ottersten and Dr. Symeon Chatzinotas.

**Your Role...**:

- Integrate with the SIGCOM research group and contribute to the SIGCOM on-going research projects
- Formulate mathematical modeling of complex wireless networks and investigate novel solutions (optimization-based and/or data-driven-based) for its optimal deployment and reconfigurability
- Developing novel algorithmics able to provide a good performance-complexity trade-off for the identified scenarios and use cases
- Compare with state-of-the-art and conventional solutions via numerical simulations and/or HW validation
- Disseminating results through scientific publications and conferences
- Preparing new research proposals to attract new projects
- Providing assistance in the supervision of PhD students

**Your Profile...**:

- A PhD degree in Telecommunication Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/engineering with a focus on wireless communications
- Experience with general wireless network optimization, e.g. 5G/6G communications, UAV assisted communications, satellite communications
- Experience with mathematical optimization tools
- Experience with machine learning is considered a plus, but not mandatory
- International experience is desirable.
- Sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and top journals (at least one IEEE Transaction publication is mandatory)
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB and LaTeX. Other languages such as Python, JULIA and C++ are desirable but not mandatory
- Experience of working with industrial projects or public funded research projects is highly desirable.
- Highly committed, excellent team-worker, and strong critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
