Merchant Banking, Luxembourg

A Management Company domiciled in Luxembourg which is a subsidiary of a prestigious Franco-British group, specialized in both traditional asset classes as well as private equity and private debt is looking for a Deputy Finance Manager’s maternity cover of one year.

Founded in 1764, and still family-owned, this leading independent financial advisor, has a specific focus on financial advisory, wealth management and asset management.

Created in 2009, the Luxembourg office is now composed of around 55 professionals covering a wide range of functions (legal/corporate, compliance, finance, accounting, fund control and risk management).

Overview of Role

**Responsibilities**:

- Accounting transactions/records of various entities of the Rothschild & Co Group domiciled in Luxembourg and part of its Merchant Banking division (the Luxembourg-regulated AIFM and several investment entities);
- Preparation of reporting packages and financial statements as well as assistance with audit requests;
- Period-end closing activities (accruals, reconciliations, FX revaluations );
- Invoicing;
- Preparation of CSSF submissions;
- Preparation of ad-hoc financial information/analysis when required;
- Coordinate with legal and compliance the proper documentation of transactions (loans, dividend distribution );
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns.

Experience, Skills and Competencies Required
- University degree in Accounting/Finance (ACCA is an asset);
- Min 3/4 years of relevant work experience in a similar field plus some PE/RE exposure;
- Basic knowledge of Lux GAAP and/or IFRS;
- Fluent in English. French would be considered as an asset;
- Dynamic personality that thrives if a fast-paced and growing business setting;
- Detail oriented while constantly viewing the big picture;
- Ability to handle and prioritize a wide variety of tasks;
- Ability to work independently but also be an excellent team player;
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for business related matters with a strong desire to learn and support;
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
