How does this role contribute to the success of Aviva Investors?
- Management of the team responsible for Fund Accounting oversight for SICAV’s and Liquidity funds to ensure that the funds’ daily prices and statutory reports comply with all relevant regulation.
- Work as part of the wider FA Oversight function to ensure we achieve consistency and cross training within the locations/teams.
- Day to day management of the relationship between the external service providers and associated service review requirements.
- Management of financial accounting and reporting requirements including the audit and depositary relationships to ensure timely sign off with no audit points.
- Represent the fund accounting function in projects and across the business as necessary to provide expertise and guidance.
- Keep abreast of industry and regulation changes to ensure the business and TPA’s/Depositaries/Auditors react appropriately.
- Provide support for testing controls within icare across the FA Oversight function and critique as necessary to improve them.
- Work with Fund Managers to ensure that they understand their regulatory requirements and to ensure they have access to reporting as necessary.

What does the role holder need to do to be successful?

Accountabilities
- Managing the team of fund accountants to maximize performance and efficiency and providing assistance if cross coverage is required within the different FA Oversight teams and across GFS if necessary.
- Work in partnership with the supplier and internal and external control/monitoring functions to ensure the funds are accounted for correctly.
- Ensuring that all fund financial reporting is produced consistently, on time and to a high standard with no audit issues.
- Ensure that the service delivered from appointed pricing and fund accounting agents is produced consistently, on time and to a high standard in accordance with agreed service levels and regulatory/accounting practice.
- Develop the effective use of technology and automation within the fund accounting function to improve efficiency, consistency between locations and enhance the control environment.
- Manage and support operational change projects impacting the fund accounting function, including but not limited to, changes arising from regulatory developments, internal operational and systems requirements, controls improvements and client requirements.
- Ensuring that all risks within the fund accounting function are understood and all pricing errors are properly reported in line with regulation, internal policies and fully remediated to avoid reoccurrence.
- Ability to challenge and work with service providers and internal teams where necessary to improve the service or remediate errors.
- Ensure that all risks and controls relating to managed supply or outsource relationships are within agreed appetite.
