Embark on a journey with ICG’s management company in Luxembourg in growing its activities. As the representative of our Portfolio Management Oversight function, you will be the linchpin in monitoring our delegates in close touch with investment managers. Reporting directly to the Conducting Officer, your role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operations of our diverse investment portfolio across structured and private equity, private debt, real estate assets, and credit.
Summary of our opportunity- You will be the primary liaison across all strategies and deals, engaging with portfolio managers, investment operations, legal counsels, and other stakeholders- You will act autonomously and on your initiative to develop and strengthen the framework and network around the portfolio management function- You will join a dynamic and diverse team in Luxembourg with a drive for excellence- Foster a local network of peers through training and development, staying at the forefront of industry best practices
Primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
Developing portfolio management oversight framework & best practices- You will take part of initial selection of delegates and ongoing monitoring by carrying out regular due diligence and spot checks- You will coordinate regular oversight portfolio management activities via dedicated trackers, questionnaires, onsite visits and critical assessment of input received from stakeholders- You will maintain SLAs with delegates and ensuring AIFM/Portfolio Management/Advisory agreements are in line with agreed-upon delegations- You will take part in the monitoring activities of funds’ performance and key performance indicators and maintaining record- You will need to be proactive in understanding strategies and transactions and any related matters which impact products proposed by ICG Europe Sarl and work with the investment teams, and be able to analyse and challenge investment proposals across all strategies
Reporting on portfolio management oversight activities- You will report on portfolio management oversight activities to Executive Committee, Board of Managers and Boards of GPs- You will ensure that robust documentation and governance is maintained to demonstrate compliance to the AIFM valuation policy and the relevant regulatory requirements- You will take part in new fund launches covering the assessment of operations, strategy fit, ESG considerations in support to conducting officers- You will be involved in the yearly review and refresh of policies & procedures related to new product approval, delegates’ oversight and other adjacencies
Building a network of internal and external peers- You will liaise with portfolio managers, investment operations, fund legal, counsels and other key stakeholders- You will initiate regular touch points with internal ICG teams involved in fund launches and transactions to ensure seamless communication- You will build on your network of peers and providers to remain abreast of latest and expected developments impacting portfolio management activities, and ICG as a whole
Key Requirements/ Qualifications
You will have demonstrable experience of:
Essential- Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar discipline- Over 7 years of relevant financial services industry experience (including a prior experience in a Big 4) with a keen interest in alternative industry operations- Local regulatory requirements in relation to AIFM and Luxembourg Funds, with an understanding of market dynamics and a solid knowledge of private assets- Experienced user of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
Desirable- You hold a CFA or CAIA qualification, or a similar certification- You have prior experience at an investment manager with exposure to operations- You have previous experience outside of Luxembourg- You speak other languages
