**The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine** (FSTM) contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of **Mathematics**, **Physics**, **Engineering**, **Computer Science**, **Life Sciences** and **Medicine**. Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens, in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.
**Your Role...**:
The successful applicant will be integrated in the research group COIN, a recently established research group in the University of Luxembourg. The doctoral student will be a member of the Doctoral School for Science and Engineering (DSSE) offering a Doctoral Program in Computer Science, aiming to provide interdisciplinary and internationally competitive research training.
**Your Mission**
- Advance research progress on computational interaction
- Disseminate results through scientific publications in journals and conferences
- Limited teaching activity of 2h per week
This position is supported by an AFR-Bilateral agreement with the Polytechnique Montréal, Canada. As part of said agreement, you will physically travel to Montréal to work with Prof. Réjean Plamondon, head of the SCRIBENS lab. The duration of your research stay abroad will be approximately of one year.
**What we expect from you**:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Proven experience (e.g. via publications or personal projects) in Machine Learning
- Expertise with generative modeling is required
- Expertise with explainable AI methods will be appreciated
- Language: Good commandment of English is a must
