The Team
The Product Governance (PG) team is an integral part of the Public Assets Product department. The PG team is primarily responsible for:
- Managing strategically the legal fund documentation and regulatory approval process of a range of investment funds (UCITS and non-UCITS domiciled in Luxembourg and in the UK) to comply with all relevant regulations, successfully deliver business/product initiatives and meet best industry practices.
- Managing regulatory communication to shareholders required by the product changes.
- Managing fund registration activities required to support the international marketing and distribution of M&G Public Assets funds.
- Maintaining a robust product governance structure which puts customers at the heart of the product lifecycle, is embedded within the product development and management process and applied through the entire product lifecycle.
The Role: Product Governance Manager
It is a critical position to ensure our Luxembourg UCITS funds legal documents meet all regulatory requirements whilst delivering against our Public Assets business development and growth ambitions.
- End to end management of fund legal documentation for Public Assets Luxembourg domiciled investment funds: proactively manage, produce and deliver fund legal documents (including prospectuses, KIDs, notices and risk profiles) to ensure that business, product and regulatory changes are implemented in a timely and compliant manner.
- Support the Product Development and Project teams by providing expertise and guidance on strategic product initiatives, product design, registration, and implementation processes.
- Assisting the Head of Luxembourg Product Governance with the product governance process of the Luxembourg-domiciled Public Assets fund range, and, where required, product governance for the Private Assets range, in support of the Management Company including preparation of reports for, and attendance at, boards and governance committees.
- Providing advice and expertise to the Management Company and the business on product development and management initiatives and activities.
- Building effective partnerships with key stakeholders across the M&G business and external lawyers.
- Assess new laws and regulations and identify potential impacts and opportunities for M&G.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience (ideally 7 - 10 years) in the Luxembourg asset management industry with a solid background in product management/governance or legal from an asset manager, international law firm, or a management company.
- Strong knowledge of fund industry and Luxembourg market practices.
- Excellent technical knowledge of legal fund structures (UCITS and non-UCITS), preferably with some experience of ESG products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, assess priorities, show flexibility and adapt plans in a fast paced environment.
- Analytical mindset, respect rules and guidelines with attention to detail.
- A critical thinker demonstrating ability to solve problems, create solutions and learn new concepts, with interest in diving into complex and regulatory issues.
- Excellent communication skills to build good relationships across the business and collaborate efficiently with both internal and external stakeholders in an international environment.
- Team player, self-motivated with ability to work independently.
- Fluency in English is required.
