Join a prominent financial services provider with substantial assets under management and administration. Renowned for their expertise in financial planning and advice, they also excel as a global asset manager and insurer. They are expanding their team in Luxembourg and looking an EU Statutory & Financial Reporting Accountant, reporting to a recently appointed European Reporting Lead based in Luxembourg.

Your primary responsibility is to support the Finance Controllership objectives by ensuring accurate regulatory and statutory reporting for European-based entities and branches within the EMEA group of companies. This includes entities in Luxembourg, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, as well as branches across Europe, with future involvement in German and French Real Estate entities.

Your Role:

  • Mainly focused on Statutory and Regulatory Reporting: Prepare Statutory and Regulatory reports to ensure their high quality for submission to auditors/regulatory authorities.
  • Keep Financial and Regulatory reports scope and content up to date, including responding to any surveys issued by local authorities.
  • Directly liaise with auditors to address and resolve queries, collaborating with the UK team when necessary.
  • Support the European Reporting Lead in communications with regulators as needed.
  • Additionally, your role encompasses: Providing Controllership support to the Treasury Capital team for internal risk-based assessments like the Dutch ICLAAP.
  • Assisting in overseeing local Balance Sheet reconciliations from other functions/regions, ensuring accurate highlighting of aging items, and collaborating with the global team to resolve them.
  • Offering technical guidance as necessary in coordination with the European Reporting Lead.
  • Reviewing Entity and Branch revenues, expenses, and profitability trends to identify any areas of concern.
  • Executive Committee / Board Meetings: Prepare necessary documents for presentation, including Quarterly financial updates and Annual Financial Statements, for approval. Handle other documentation as required.
  • Other Responsibilities: Collaborate with Tax, Treasury, and LFO teams on operational matters. Support the European reporting lead in business transfers/mergers and potential entity closures, including accounting efforts and liaison with external auditors/advisors.
  • Engage in other project work related to European entities as needed.

Your Profile:

  • Professional qualification required.
  • Solid understanding of Luxembourg GAAP.
  • +/- 3 years of Experience in or with a Luxembourg-based Investment Management entity.
  • Ability to comprehend and investigate other GAAP treatments.
  • Proficient in Excel/Word reporting.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues across regions.
  • Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
  • Set high personal standards and seek continual improvement.
  • Adaptable and capable of multitasking in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Well-organized with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Exposure to Workday Financials is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is a great plus.
