Financial Accounting Officer

Purpose:
The Financial Control Division consists of four Units: - Financial Operations Unit, focusing on settling transactions; - Financial Reporting Unit, managing various financial reporting matters related to the entity activity; - Liquidity Management Unit, handling the liquidity and treasury portfolios of the entity and managed mandates; - Financial Accounting Unit, primarily responsible for bookkeeping.
Operating Network:
You will work under the guidance of the Head of Unit - Financial Accounting, who reports to the Head of Division - Financial Control. Working with a team, you will collaborate closely with other relevant services within the EIB Group and external auditors.
Responsibilities:
As per your experience and seniority level:
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data;
- Handle bookkeeping for products across the entity and managed mandates;
- Maintain financial accounts, journals, ledgers, and records in automated or manual systems along with supporting documentation files;
- Contribute to updating accounting ledgers regularly;
- Manage information requests ensuring effective delivery;
- Coordinate with entity's services and external auditors as needed;
- Uphold high accounting standards in entity's activities;
- Assist in developing and enhancing Financial Accounting Unit's procedures;
- Identify problematic transactions and resolve related account irregularities efficiently;
- Support external auditors, plan, and monitor audits;
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team actively.
