For a European Institution in Luxembourg Kirchberg, Sofitex Talent is seeking a:
Financial Accounting Officer (M/F)
Purpose:
The Financial Control Division consists of four Units:
- The Financial Operations Unit, primarily handling transaction settlements;
- The Financial Reporting Unit, managing financial reporting related to the entity's activities;
- The Liquidity Management Unit, overseeing liquidity and treasury portfolios;
- The Financial Accounting Unit.
As part of the Financial Control Division, the Financial Accounting Unit is responsible for bookkeeping.
Operating Network:
Reporting to the Head of Division - Financial Control, you will work under the guidance of the Head of Unit – Financial Accounting and collaborate with internal EIB Group services and external auditors.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data;
- Handle bookkeeping across the entity and managed mandates;
- Maintain financial accounts and supporting documentation;
- Update accounting ledgers;
- Manage information requests efficiently;
- Comply with high accounting standards;
- Contribute to process enhancements;
- Resolve irregularities in accounts;
- Support external audits;
- Share knowledge within the team.
- University degree, preferably at post-graduate level, in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar field;
- Additional professional qualifications are a plus;
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant accounting experience post-graduation;
- Familiarity with accounting frameworks such as IFRS, IPSAS, and EU and national standards;
- Knowledge of financial instruments and products;
- Familiarity with People Soft, Business Objects, or similar tools;
- Proficient in written and spoken English. Knowledge of French or other EU languages is beneficial.
This role offers an initial 2-month contract with possible extensions.
Salary ranges from 3,500€ to 3,820€ gross per month, based on experience.
