Your Role

Joining the Security, Reasoning and Validation (SeRVal) group at SnT, led by Dr. Maxime Cordy, you will be involved in the VARIANCE project, supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund. The project focuses on "Variability-Aware Design of Cyber-Physical Systems", aiming to create new verification methods to enhance the design process of such systems. This entails representing multiple design options concisely and applying efficient verification techniques to evaluate their performance across various domains like automotive systems, space systems, and more. Depending on your expertise, the project can encompass theoretical work, development, and/or practical applications.

The team you will collaborate with includes:

  • Maxime Cordy: research scientist at SeRVal

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Conducting research in specified areas
  • Reviewing relevant scientific literature
  • Sharing findings through scientific publications
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and present results
  • Developing proof-of-concept software tools

Your Profile

Requirements:

The ideal candidate holds an MSc degree (or equivalent) in computer science, with strong programming skills and a solid understanding of verification methods.

Experience: Preferred competencies include:

  • Programming (preferably C/C++)
  • Variability-intensive software systems
  • Model checking
  • Software engineering
  • Graph theory
  • Metaheuristics
  • Probability theory
  • Sampling and simulations
  • Embedded systems knowledge
  • Machine learning

Language Skills: Proficiency in both written and verbal English is essential
