Your Role

The selected candidates will become part of the Serval research group, contributing to Software Testing research under the guidance of Dr. Mike Papadakis. They will delve into automatic testing using computational intelligence techniques, focusing on test creation, test oracle, and test assessment. As a PhD student, you will explore and enhance software engineering methods, including prototype implementations' feasibility, practicality, and success evaluation.

PhD Student Role: Working under a professor's supervision, the candidate will conduct research activities and craft a thesis to earn a PhD in Software Engineering. Responsibilities include literature reviews, setting up experimental facilities, executing experiments, contributing to project milestones, and presenting findings at international conferences and in scientific publications.

Your Profile

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Have a Master's degree in areas such as Informatics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • Possess a solid background in software testing and formal methods in software engineering
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • Previous experience in information and communication technology is advantageous
  • Desirable skills include knowledge of machine learning, metaheuristics, statistics, and text analysis
  • Key attributes: commitment, teamwork, critical thinking, and motivation

Language Skills: Fluency in written and verbal English is a prerequisite.
