About the role


We are looking for a qualified and experienced professional to join our reporting and carrier steering team for an initial period of 2 years, with a possibility of extension.


The Luxembourg Reporting Team is responsible for legal entity reporting according to Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS and Solvency II valuation principles.

Swiss Re Group is replacing USGAAP with IFRS as its group valuation.


In this role, you will be responsible for the Statutory and Regulatory reporting and will have responsibility for co-ordination, development, understanding and analysis of the Statutory results on a quarterly and annual basis.

You will provide comprehensive financial analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting and monitoring activities according to management requirements.

In case you have experience/knowledge of IFRS, you will be involve in the IFRS implementation.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Organize, prepare and deliver very good quality and regulatory compliant Statutory and Regulatory reporting in the required timeframe and quality to management, the Board of Director and the Regulator
  • Project management and execution of various legal entity finance related projects and initiatives
  • In depth understanding of the Statutory balance sheet and profit and loss positions and performs variance analytics on balance sheet, profit and loss and capital requirement on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Build and understand of the full legal entity Statutory valuation story line and prepare walk between the different entity valuations on a regular basis
  • Continually enhance systems and processes to meet reporting requirements and to ensure optimal and efficient Stat reporting processes, involving close development work and coordination with other Finance teams, IT and Risk divisions and their teams.
  • Monitoring and analyzing any regulatory and industry developments around statutory and IFRS and its implications on reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements and control standards.
  • Ensure close collaboration with other teams principally in Finance and Risk Management

About you

  • University degree in Accounting or related fields
  • 5+ years of work experience in insurance / reinsurance related finance accounting functions
  • Excellent knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP
  • IFRS knowledge and experience is an advantage
  • Insurance operational and accounting knowledge beneficial
  • Strong track record in reporting
  • Excellent analytical skills and holistic approach
  • Engaging and motivating
  • Excellent command of the English language. French language skills beneficial
  • Strong focus on delivering high quality output within tight timeframes
  • Strong team worker with collaboration and relationship management skills and effective working relationships with teams and departments not directly in your control
  • Ability to engage and motivate cross functional and multiple location teams to deliver
  • Ability to challenge, develop / enhance existing processes and improve continually
  • Ability to communicate concisely and accurately especially externally
