Your Role...
A two-years postdoctoral position in Theoretical/Computational Solid-State Physics is available in the group of Prof. Ludger Wirtz at the Department of Physics and Materials Science. The project deals with the development of new ab-initio methods for the calculation of luminescence spectra of 2D materials.
The focus will be on materials with indirect bandgap where exciton-phonon coupling is needed for the proper description of phonon-assisted luminescence.
What we expect from you
- PhD in physics, materials science, or a related field (or expecting to graduate soon)
- Strong background in programming and usage of abinitio electronic structure codes
- Ability to work effectively in a team and good communication skills (oral and written)
- Knowledge of the methods of manybody perturbation theory (in particular the GW approximation and the Bethe-SalpeterEquation)
- Experience with highthroughput computing is a plus
