The Role:
M&G are looking for a Supplier Manager to join the Investment Operations & Distribution team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in either Luxembourg or London.
The role will report into the Luxembourg Conducting Officer with a dotted line to the Senior Manager of the Supplier Management Global team.
M&G employs a number of third-party service providers to provide the specialist administrative activities necessary for the successful daily operation of its funds.
The Supplier Management team consists of 22 people, based in London and Luxembourg, who are primarily responsible for ensuring M&G's supplier oversight is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policy.
- Assist with the oversight of the performance of thirdparty companies to ensure service standards remain high and clients receive the standard of service expected.
- Ensure M&G Luxembourg S.A. (the management company) complies with its regulatory responsibilities,
- Assist with the support provided to the fund boards of two private asset funds due to be launched Q3 2023.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- To ensure a valid Service Level Agreement (SLA) is in place for each supplier and refreshed in accordance with M&G Luxembourg's policies,
- To monitor performance of suppliers against the SLA by receiving and reviewing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and representing M&G and Service Review Meetings (SRM's),
- To ensure M&G management is kept briefed on supplier performance by writing reports to governance committees and boards,
- To ensure fee agreements are in place and monitor the payment of fees to suppliers,
- To ensure fund board meetings are set up and properly prepared by liaising with key stakeholders, such as the company secretariat, directors and investment teams,
- To be the main point of contact for stakeholders and the supplier for any issues (including incidents) and to manage those issues to a conclusion, ensuring they are logged and tracked in accordance with M&G policy,
- To carry out a variety of tasks compliant with Luxembourg regulations, such as regular due diligence activities,
- To produce MI for the Luxembourg Management Company on the oversight activities and performance of the supplier.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- This role is ideally suited to someone who can demonstrate:
- A good understanding of the services provided by a fund administrator, such as;
- transfer agency,
- custody and settlement,
- Excellent communication skills (the role will involve liaising with senior people, including independent directors of the fund board and investment managers),
- The ability to work under their own initiative,
- Selfmotivation and drive who will take ownership of work and see it through to completion,
- Good organisational ability,
- Comfort with conflicting priorities,
- Being able to prioritise appropriately especially at times of high workload,
- Someone with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or with a fund administrator (ideally with strong fund accounting/valuations knowledge).
