Your Role...
The R&D Specialist will be working under the supervision of Professor Nils Löhndorf.

In particular, the R&D Specialist will be in charge of:

  • Developing simulation and optimization codes for decision models in operations and supply chain management
  • Developing interactive dashboards for decision models and optimization codes
  • Enhancing and maintaining an inhouse dashboarding solution for visualization of optimization models
  • Supporting live prototyping sessions with sponsor companies and partners from industry
  • Supporting the deployment of prototypes through our local infrastructure for live demos
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications, workshops and conferences (coorganize workshops, seminars, and conferences; edit the publication of the research results)
  • Offer research assistance and guidance for students who develop decision and machine learning models

Qualifications...

In particular, the following requirements apply:

  • Strong interest in Python coding and web frameworks
  • Good knowledge in other languages, such as JavaScript, SQL, or Java
  • Curious and selfmotivated to generate and implement own ideas
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as functioning as part of a team
  • Fluency in English (German and French will be considered a bonus)
