Job Description Summary:

This is a high-impact leadership role that requires strong partnership with both the Business Units and the Risk organization to ensure risk assets and capabilities are leveraged to drive growth, improve efficiency, and increase PayPal Inc.

profitability while at the same time effectively manage the day-to-day FP&A activities related to transaction losses.

You will lead the Transaction Loss FP&A activities including building budgets and forecasts and providing transparency on transaction losses trends and initiatives evolution at product/segment/region level through close engagement with our business partners globally.


Job Description:

Your day to day:

  • Lead the planning and forecasting for PayPal Transaction Loss and work with Risk management & BI team to produce weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, review quarterly forecasts and annual budgets across products/segments/regions. Be a strategic partner, providing clear and thoughtful analysis + communication.
  • Maintain the Forecast Reserve Adequacy Model (FRAMe) for PayPal and its main crossproperties, ensuring appropriate reserve levels and adherence to audit/controllership principles.
  • Build a strong partnership with Risk BI/GOAL team to transform our forecasting and reporting capabilities towards a customerbased view and while providing proactive and actionoriented BUlevel Transaction Loss insights to BU Leadership & BU FP&A partners.
  • Drive Transaction Loss FP&A analytics tools and process strategies, partnering with Risk BI, Controllership and technology teams.
  • Drive optimal decision making through insightful models and analytical tools & use of extensive financial and quantitative analysis, modelling, including Transaction Margin variance analyses.
  • Successfully managing, coaching and developing the Transaction Loss FP&A team.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or management consulting, incl. in a leadership roles; prior publicly traded company experience strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis. Strong Excel and Power Point skills. Experience with database products (i.e. Essbase, SQL, Python).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Experience in fastpaced, agile and growth environments
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with variable levels of professionals
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively, anticipate future challenges, and drive innovative recommendations
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools
  • Strong leadership skills including high integrity, agility, collaboration and a team oriented mindset
