Postdoctoral Position for Metabolomics Research in

Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_.
We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and their contributing factors.
The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB.
Your Role
:
- Perform targeted and untargeted (mostly liquid chromatography) mass spectrometrybased metabolomics analyses in samples of patients with mitochondrial disorders
- Chemical identification of relevant unknown peaks detected in samples of patients with mitochondrial disorders using cheminformatics approaches and final validation using targeted methods
- Perform metabolic enzyme assays and metabolomicsbased functional studies in human cell and yeast models of mitochondrial disorders
- Use modern data management and establish precise project documentation
- Work in a collaborative environment, also with different servicebased core platforms (sequencing, metabolomics, and imaging facilities)
- Active participation in project consortium meetings
- Independent drafting of project reports and potentially grant proposals
- Writing manuscripts for publication in highquality journals
- Presentation of research findings at international scientific meetings
What we expect from you:
- PhD degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or another similar life sciencerelated discipline
- Extensive analytical experience in target and nontarget highresolution mass spectrometry (HRMS/MS), preferably in a metabolomics setting
- Strong background in metabolic biochemistry and keen interest in mitochondrial biology
- Strong computational skills, including programming, will be considered as an important asset
- Solid bioinformatic and biostatistics skills will be required
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in oral and written English is essential
