R&D Test Engineer (M/F)

LuxScan Technologies is a leading company specializing in industrial scanners for automation in the timber industry. We are part of the renowned German Weinig Group, known for producing top-notch machines and systems for wood and panel production. Despite being a small company with around 50 employees, we benefit from the strength and support of a large international group.

We are searching for a skilled and motivated R&D Test Engineer (M/F) to join our team working on Scanning systems in an international setting. This engineer will be a valuable addition to our R&D Application team, focusing on the following key objectives:

  • Testing and validating new developments (products, software, ...),
  • Implementing defect detection models using Artificial Intelligence (AI),
  • Establishing methodologies and quality processes,
  • Ensuring the final product meets our high standards for customer delivery.

Additionally, the team is responsible for managing image databases and annotations.

Your Responsibilities

As the R&D Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing and validating new designs and features before their release. Working closely with the Production and Service departments, you will also contribute to enhancing methodologies and quality procedures to standardize and improve the quality of our machines.

With the increasing role of artificial intelligence in image processing, you will engage in the development, evaluation, and management of Deep Learning models as part of the R&D Application team's work. You will collaborate with a team of 5 individuals, actively participating in various tasks based on workload and project requirements.

Your Profile

  • Degree in automation, electronics, electrical, or computer sciences,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Proficiency in English and French is essential given our diverse workforce,
  • Consideration for recent graduates.

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial

  • Proficiency in other languages,
  • Previous experience in a similar role,
  • Knowledge of machine design,
  • Understanding of wood industry processes,
  • Interest in sensors, image processing, and deep learning.
